How your data is stored

Monezy keeps one household per login. This page says where that household lives, who can open it, and what signing out actually does.

One login, one set of books

Income, expenses, the house pool, goals, and documents are saved to the account you sign in with. The same method — the same Google account, the same X account, or the same email — sees the same household on a phone and on a laptop. A different method is a different account.

What is stored

  • The ledger: people, salary, spend, investments, pool transfers, goals, and payslips.
  • The document vault: a title, a number, notes, and the file you attached.

Sample or demo figures are not kept. If a browser still has an old practice household, it is dropped.

Where it lives

The account copy sits in Monezy’s database, in a private row that belongs to that login. When the app loads or saves, the server checks the session and uses that signed-in id. It does not trust an id typed in by the browser. Another login cannot ask for your row.

This browser also keeps a working copy so screens open straight away. Edits are written back to the account. The connection to the site is encrypted in transit.

Documents stay on the account

Uploaded files are part of the vault on that same login. They are not put in a Google Drive folder, and Profile does not hand you a Drive link. You can preview an image, a PDF, or a text file inside Monezy, or download it. Each attachment needs to stay under 1.8 MB.

What sign-out does

Sign out clears the household from this browser. The account copy is left where it is. The screen goes back to Create account / Sign in — not your name, not your bills, not your files. Signing in again with the same method loads the household back.

On a shared phone, sign out when you are done. The next person should see the sign-in page.

A copy you hold

Settings → Save backup downloads the ledger onto your device. The document screen can export the vault the same way. That file is yours. Keep it somewhere you already trust.

What this is not

  • Not a bank, a broker, or a government locker. Keep the originals of policies and title deeds.
  • Not a folder other people in the house can open with their own login, unless they use yours.
  • Not a place we sell. The ledger is there so you can open it again.
