Track salary, payslips, and other income the way Indian families actually get paid

How to log CTC versus in-hand, TDS, EPF, professional tax, bonuses, and side inflows in Monezy’s Income tab — then see net income on the household overview.

Income is a tab, not a leftover form

The Income item in the side bar is the payslip workspace. Pick a family member, pick the month, and fill the slip the way it arrived: gross, bonus, reimbursements, other inflows, then TDS, EPF, professional tax, and insurance. Monezy computes net. Applying the payslip writes the inflow into the household books so Overview and Reports stay in sync with Income — they are the same money.

Gross is not the number you live on

Indian offers are quoted as CTC. Rent is paid from in-hand. If you only log the credit that hit the salary account, you hide EPF and TDS and then wonder why the “savings rate” looks heroic. Logging the full slip makes net income honest: what you can spend, what went to retirement, and what the government already took.

Two earners, one overview

Apply each person’s payslip separately. Household scope then stacks both nets. Person scope shows one career. That is how you answer “can we take this home loan?” without mixing a bonus month with a sabbatical month.

Other inflows — rent from a second house, dividends, a freelance invoice, a gift — belong on the same slip as “others” or as a one-off Income quick action when they are not salary.

Net income on the overview

Once slips and expenses exist, Overview puts net income beside the money snapshot. You should see, at a glance, whether this month (or this FY) produced a surplus, and whether that surplus went to SIPs, the pool, or a goal vault — or leaked as discretionary spend.
